OTHER FARMING OPERATIONS

The farm is 200 acres (81ha) with the vineyard and shed areas taking approximately a quarter of the total area.  The rest of the farm is used to breed fat lambs which, along with wool, provide an alternate cash flow outside the primary grape growing operation.  It is stocked with up to 300 merino ewes mated to poll dorset rams.  Fat lambs are turned off in November/December each year. Wool production is 8 to 10 bales.
