FRUIT CONTRACT HISTORY
Tammar Gully Vineyard had enjoyed a solid and continuous contractual history with Goundrey Wines of Mount Barker since our first vintage in 1997. Our contract was terminated when Goundrey Wines (Vincor) was purchased by the American company, Constellation. Under the management of Hardy Wines, a review of the Grower base resulted in most Goundrey Growers having their contracts paid out. Notwithstanding this temporary setback, we sold all our fruit in 2007 to Tinlins Wines in South Australia
All red grapes of the 2008 vintage were sold to Foster's Wine Estates for their Wolf Blass label while the chardonnay was sold to Alkoomi Wines in Frankland.
In 2009 the prime Shiraz block was sold to Matildas Estate in Denmark, along with a small parcel of Cabernet Sauvignon. This was the first time we were unable to place all our fruit. While the Wine industry is slowly emerging from an over-supply of fruit, we anticipate not being able to market all our fruit again in 2010. Matildas Estate have indicated they would like to purchase fruit from Tammar Gully again in 2010.
All contractural agreeements have been "Farm Gate" prices with the Wineries accepting responsibility for the provision of harvest bins and freight. The cost of harvesting is our responsibility.
